While there, she was awarded the Dean’s Prize of Excellence for the highest academic performance and for clinical excellence in physiotherapy. Prior to her physiotherapy degree, Erlyn graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of New Brunswick in 2014.
Before attending physiotherapy school, Erlyn worked at K-TOWN Physiotherapy as the clinic manager, a PTA, and a kinesiologist where she became well versed in all aspects of physiotherapy care. She has always strived to promote healthy living and is passionate about helping individuals achieve optimal health and wellness through activities that fit into their everyday lifestyle. As a physiotherapist, she is excited to continue working with patients to help them restore their function, return to sport, and improve their quality of life. Erlyn believes in treating each patient as a unique individual, considering their specific needs, concerns, and goals. She is skilled in creating personalized treatment plans tailored to address the root causes of pain and dysfunction getting her patients back to their sports, hobbies, work, and daily life. Since graduating, she has taken courses in advanced manual therapy, acupuncture, taping, and functional movement screening. As a lifelong learner, she continues to pursuit courses to reach her FCAMPT designation through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Erlyn’s passion for pelvic health sparked as a kinesiologist, when she started working with her mentor clients for a multidisciplinary approach to pelvic floor dysfunction. Recognizing the profound impact that pelvic floor dysfunction can have on these individuals’ quality of life, Erlyn completed research in the post-partum population during her master’s degree. Now, as a Physiotherapist, she has pursued specialized training in pelvic health physiotherapy including foundation courses level one and two, and advance courses in pregnancy, childbirth preparation, and pre-natal/post-partum fitness. This has enhanced her ability in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of pelvic floor disorders. Erlyn takes a holistic approach to pelvic floor physiotherapy and treating each patient as an individual. With a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, she works collaboratively with her patients to develop effective treatment strategies, which may include manual therapy techniques, pelvic floor muscle exercises, lifestyle modifications, and behavioral interventions.
Outside of the clinic, Erlyn can be found spending time with her little family, hiking with her dog, Molly, traveling, or participating in a dance class.
